Kilowog was in a locked chase with Alisand'r hot on his tail. A Tamaranean with super strength and invulnerability would send anyone hightailing it but that wasn't why Kilowog was flying away. He was more concerned with trying to think of a strategy that could actually work. Since their fight had begun, the two were reduced to a stalemate. Neither could seem to get the upper hand on the other. Kilowog managed to turn himself around midair and fly backwards as he shot a series of green energy beams off. Alisand'r avoided them all by weaving between each one. As she came out of the obstacle she graced the Bolovaxian with a cocky smirk. Getting an idea, Kilowog suddenly stopped and reached a hand back. Alisand'r had tried to come to a stop but before she could Kilowog grabbed her by the throat just before she could crash into him. He held her tight and with his ring hand blasted her in the chest. She skyrocketed into a building. As soon as he felt victorious himself something caught
A/N: So yes I'll be taking some creative liberties with the Tamaraneans. I do like the powers they were portrayed with in the Teen Titans animated series. There'll be some other things added but there'll be an explanation for them eventually. ________________________________________________________ John grunted as he landed hard on his back. Not long after the fight started did John learn that Tamaraneans fought dirty. Not only that but they were much stronger than he had anticipated. It was not just physical prowess but the fact that each of them had a completely different ability from the other. It reminded John of the metahumans back on Earth. Ph'yzzon not only possessed superhuman strength but he was able to duplicate himself. He was using the ability to land cheap and dirty hits. Zirral wasn't as physically strong as Ph'yzzon yet she had a more annoying ability to go against as a Green Lantern. She was able to absorb energy and project it back by powering up her own energy
A/N: Okay so this chapter is just filled with inner spite. My tablet broke and I lost not only my outline and written out scenes for future chapters but I had lost the original of this chapter as well...7k words just gone like that. I was extremely salty over losing all of that progress. It honestly killed my motivation for a good while. Now...I'm rusty as shit. I also think it was a way for the universe to tell me that 7k words may have been a bit too long and drawn out. So we're back to slow-paced plot building again. I apologize for the mess below. I promise it will piece itself together by the end of this arc. ___________________________________________________________ The surface of the planet was harsh and the wind whipped wildly at his feet. The desert covered plains crunched dryly as he walked alongside his Green Lantern comrades. John couldn't believe someone would actually want to live on this planet. The last time he was on Tamaran the planet had lush and vibrant
A/N: I did not forgot about this story. Just it's a mood I have to get myself into in order to write for it. That and when my tablet broke I had lost the section I had actually wrote for this chapter amongst a lot of other stuff. I wasn't particularly happy how the original chapter started so it did give me an opportunity to revamp it. ______________________________________________________ She was only a mere child. She was hardly anything but unique. She was what her people would refer to as a hetk'par. The term was used only for the weakest of Thanagarian soldiers and Shayera Hol was just that. She was nothing but a disgrace. A pathetic weakling who didn't deserve to be called a Thanagarian. She hated fighting. She never fought even during lessons. She regarded the two Thanagarian instructors, one male and the other female, before her carefully. Despite their attempts to speak quietly, she heard every word they spoke about her. If there was one thing Shayera could pride herself on
A/N: The inevitable rewrite that was long coming. Like Alien this did not age all too well but not as badly as Alien did. Though, as per usual with me, there's always room for much needed improvement. ________________________________________________ John let out a light, barely audible sigh as he watched the last of the villains being taken into custody by the Star City Police Department. As the police van's back doors closed, John's gaze instead drifted and noted the League members grouping back up. Rocket Red and Hourman proceeded to high five each other while Elongated Man simply yawned as though the fight had bored him. That was when his focus went to the Thanagarian, who was standing off to the side. Being mission leader had not been easy for her. Rocket Red had not taken kindly to having, as he had put it, a damn Thanagarian in charge. Hourman had not been much better and had been very verbal at his disdain to having to listen to the Thanagarian. Elongated Man had been more or
A/N: Yeah I'm not dead or anything. I just got distracted by work, then by Jedi Survivor, and then work again. Plus I also wanted to actually plot some things out for later in the story since I went into this with minimal planning and just a handful of established plot points that I'd use. Sorry if I'm a bit rusty now. I gotta get myself back into the swing of things. _____________________________________________________ "She wasn't at home and she's not here and she's not at the Metro Tower and I don't know where else to look," Wally frantically rambled to Mister Terrific before suddenly grabbing his shoulders. "What if something happened to her? Can't you track her or something? Why the hell else do we have these commlinks? You gotta know where she is!" Mister Terrific let out a sigh before slowly removing the speedster's hands from his shoulders. "Listen Flash, if I could have tracked her I would have already but she threw this at me," Terrific held up a commlink between his left
A/N: This is a bit um...spicy. Nothing that I think is M-rated but to be safe just be aware of spicy things ahead. It'll be obvious as the chapter progresses but this is set during Shadow of the Hawk. ________________________________________________________ Her heart jumped to her throat when his hand settled against her cheek. A blush immediately rose to her face and she couldn't stop herself from melting into his touch. Her head was spinning. Her heart felt as though it had burst into a million pieces. She was with Carter. Lying on top of his bed. She couldn't believe what was happening. She couldn't believe it was even possible. Shayera couldn't quite comprehend her current situation. Yet here Carter was with her. Touching her, kissing her, loving her. His touches set her system aflame and left her stomach twisted up. She wasn't going to last at this rate. Shayera felt her body give an involuntary shudder as she felt Carter's hand slowly travel up her right inner thigh.
Shayera never knew or had even considered before just how invasive a prenatal exam could be. Though she also figured that if she had done this earlier than Becky probably wouldn't have needed to go so in-depth while examining her. Her only saving grace was that it seemed that Becky was now getting into the much less invasive side of the exam. Even with how much she trusted Becky, Shayera still found herself feeling apprehensive the entire time. Each poke and prod over her body reminded the Thanagarian of the fact that she absolutely loathed anything related to the medical field. That and lying on her back for over an hour now was not easy for her. Her lower back was killing her and the base of her wings felt like pins and needles. Shayera's lack of sleep had already made her feel irritated and now combined with the pain in her back it did not help improve her mood in the least. It was taking a lot of restraint on the Thanagarian's end to not snap at Becky or just storm out of the
"...you don't belong having a baby to begin with..." Wally's words kept playing over in Shayera's mind over and over. No matter what she did she couldn't stop the words from plaguing her subconscious. She couldn't stand that his words were playing right into her insecurities of being a mother, her fears of being a terrible mother at that. Shayera already believed that she had no right to be having a baby and Wally's words had only served to reinforce her belief. Despite being curled up in bed, Shayera was anything but calm or relaxed. What she was feeling was, simply put, a mixed bag of anger, fear, depression, and anxiety that just seemed to swirl around in her gut like a tornado. Even though she was lying on her own comfortable mattress in the comfort of her own home, it didn't feel that way to Shayera. The Thanagarian felt as if she was lying on literal pins and needles as her whole body was prickling in discomfort. Shayera took in a deep breath before she shakingly exhaled. Her
Shayera silently sat on edge of the bed in the medbay. She couldn't remember just how long she had been sitting there in silence and by herself with her thoughts. She figured it had to be a few hours at the least. She took in a deep breath, held it for a moment, and then let out a heavy sigh. She looked down to see the bandages wrapped around her left thigh and tentatively pressed a finger over the freshly stitched wound that was underneath. Shayera immediately recoiled her hand and winced. She didn't quite know why she had expected for it to not hurt. Shayera let out another sigh as she glanced over her right shoulder and at her now bandaged wing. She was surprised that her wing hurt the least out of the two serious injuries she had sustained. Her left ankle and right shoulder as well stung from the cuts but she knew that they would quickly heal within a few days. When J'onn had been stitching and bandaging her up she had jokingly suggested to give her an Elmo bandaid for the wounds
